Dear Parents,
It is that time of year when we begin planning for the upcoming 2024-25 school year. We would like to inform you of the process we use in helping determine student placement. The goal of placement is to create an equal balance of needs and abilities in all classrooms and pair students with the teacher and classmates that will provide the optimal learning environment for all students. With this in mind we would like to lead you through our process.
Teachers will complete an on-line information form in Class Composer for each student presently enrolled in their classroom. This program addresses the academic and social needs of the student. The program then randomly places students based on the parameters that we have established. When these classes are initially formed, other support staff are asked to review the lists to see if there are considerations that may have been missed. Those lists are not finalized until late May due to the fact that incoming students will be added to the list and students may still need to be moved to further balance the classes.
Mrs. Roe & Mrs. Berry will make final decisions on all placements as we have a broad overview of all students. Parents are reminded that we are unable to honor requests for a specific teacher. We do believe you have valuable information about your child. If there is information that needs to be considered as placements are made, you are requested to fill out a form. Please do not mention specific teacher names on the form. Please know careful consideration is given to each student and many professional eyes view the placement of each child to ensure the success of all students. This form provides an opportunity for you to provide information we may not be aware of and in no way guarantees placement or non-placement. To be considered, forms must be submitted no later than Friday, May 10. Forms can be picked up in the front office or there use this link to print out a copy of the form Parent Input form 24/25. Thank you for being good partners in this process. We work hard to make the best possible decisions for students and staff.

Dear CSE Families,
CSE's English Language Development Department will be postponing the Multicultural Night. Instead of this May, the event has been postponed and will now occur next Fall. Stay tuned for more information in the Fall. This evening will be filled with diversity, celebration, and fun for the whole family.

Welcome to the Douglas County High School ATHLETICS Guide to Summer Camps in 2024!
Parents, are your kiddos ready for a fun and safe summer? Douglas County High School’s Athletics Programs offer a variety of day-camps for all ages and abilities. Our camps are designed for your kid’s enjoyment and your peace of mind that they will be learning about their sport, meeting new kids all while learning new skills. Our high-energy coaches will develop their skills and their love for physical fitness. We know parenting can be a juggle, so we’re all about making it easy. Drop and go, knowing your kids will have a blast in safe and experienced hands.
